The main UK legal requirement is the Equality Act 2010 which requires organisations to make “reasonable adjustments” so disabled people are not placed at a disadvantage. There are also recognised standards that demonstrate good practice and there is equivalent legislation across international boundaries.

Research & advocacy

We speak with policymakers, researchers and industry bodies to shape a more inclusive future for access to blue spaces, helping to influence decisions in areas such as health, transport and education.

We advocate for greater recognition of the physical and psychological benefits that being on the water brings to people with disabilities and why these should be encouraged and where needed, action taken.
